As the Western World reels from the changes that are currently challenging everything we've known, and millions exiled from other nations flood to our borders seeking compassion and hope, how can we find those virtues in ourselves in order to be able to rise to the challenges we face?
Hope in the Heart is offering a unique workshop to rekindle the spark of hope within ourselves and others and create a resource to help inspire a global revolution of hope and compassion in these changing times.

Rehoming hope

What does hope look like?

We are living in a world where many people are physically displaced from their homes and arriving in new, unfamiliar places where they may not feel welcome or safe.

Many who have material security and comfortable homes also feel displaced by personal circumstances and, increasingly, the social and political change that is shaping our nations as “home” in the wider sense morphs into something that no longer feels solid or safe.

What happens when our concept of “home” is shattered? Where can we find refuge, in the outer world and the world within? What happens to Hope when Home, at its deepest level, is threatened or destroyed?

The Hope in the Heart Collection is an exhibition, resource and unique communication from one human heart to another, many times over. It was inspired by the Hibakusha (atomic bomb survivors) of Hiroshima, who know a little about the loss and resurrection of home and hope!
Rehoming Hope is a workshop that identifies and celebrates the remarkable capacity of the human spirit to transcend adversity and find its way home in the truest sense.

Through a skillfully facilitated process, participants recognise their power as survivors, immortalising this in an image which they subsequently contribute to the Collection.
This process aims to transcend barriers and ignite the sparks of hope and empathy in those who create the images and those who see them as part of the collection.

At this time of international emergency, Hope in the Heart is offering free and subsidised creative workshops to a limited number of community groups (youth and adults). Please contact us if you would like to know more.
