Welcome! Hope in the Heart is a social enterprise whose highly skilled and qualified staff and directors all have lived experience of mental health and associated issues. We are committed to using our personal experience to support others who may be struggling, inform and educate people in power and influence positive change.
We do this by providing free creative community workshops in South London, training and events nationally and internationally, and a unique collection of incredible art created by our workshop participants which regularly features in our Messages from the HeART exhibitions in collaboration with partner organisations. Recent exhibitions, in London and Plymouth, have taken place at venues including Queen Mary University (Insider/Outsider Conference), Methodist Central Hall (the Citizens UK Mayoral Accountability Assembly), the University of Central London (UCL), the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Devonport Guildhall and Ocean Studios, Royal William Yard, Plymouth.
Free community workshops are currently taking place at International House, Brixton and will resume at Battersea Arts Centre in the Autumn (info and dates here) and we are planning more exhibitions and performance events in the near future. Please contact [email protected] with any queries and visit this page for more information about the project and events and this page to see more of the artwork featured at the exhibitions.
