INVITATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONTRIBUTORS AND COLLABORATORS
Do you or any of your associates, service-users, community, family or friends have something you’d like to say to anyone who has been involved with you in a professional role; a service-provider, a service, a person or people in power (local leaders, policy-makers, commissioners, educators…), or even society at large? Messages from the HeART invites anyone interested to create a piece of art, sculpture, writing/poetry, performance etc. which expresses something of their lived experience, plus a message that they would like to have heard.
These will be shown at a series of exhibitions and events in the UK, starting at Ocean Studios, Plymouth in May 2022, to which service-providers, commissioners, leaders etc will be invited.
Hope in the Heart is offering free workshops in Plymouth, London and online for potential contributors (see the link for details) but we don’t have the capacity to reach as many people as we would like to in person. So we’ve put together these guidelines for facilitators, groups and individuals who have something to say, and who’d like to join our project to have their individual and collective voices heard and to influence positive change. Please contact [email protected] if you would like to contribute a creative piece or pieces for the exhibitions, receive instructions for simple group activities to create contributions, attend a workshop or ask any questions. We are keen to include a diverse range of messages and enable as many voices as possible to be heard.
***LOOKING AFTER YOURSELF*** This kind of activity can sometimes trigger memories, feelings and insights that may be uncomfortable or even distressing. Please look after yourself and keep your creativity within parameters that feel safe and comfortable. Where possible, we recommend creating with others, in an environment of mutual support and inspiration.
