(Please visit this page if you are interested in Higher educational or organisational training.)

Our Lived Experience project has seen the progression of our women's groups back to in-person workshops.

We are also offering mixed sessions for people with lived experience of all kinds to make connections and explore the strengths and skills such challenges can bring.

Please contact sophie@hopeintheheart for details

A major feature of this project is a unique series of exhibitions entitled Messages from the HeART. P
eople with lived experience are invited to tell part of their story through art, poetry and any other creative medium to both aid their own personal development and express something they would like to say to service-providers, which could ultimately change the way services support them and others in need. We are currently providing free community workshops in Plymouth, Cornwall, London and Kent, and are keen to engage with other organisations with LEx service-users who might like to take part.

The women-only Facebook community that sprung up as part of our most recent projects is still active and women everywhere are welcome to join. Adapting Gloriously! - One Glorious Thing...
is a haven in which to share experiences and solutions - or just bask in what is glorious beyond the challenges of daily life.

Please visit (and like) the Hope in the Heart Facebook page, and see events as they come up.

FREE WORKSHOPS FOR ESTABLISHED GROUPS
We are offeing a variety of workshops for women's or mixed groups, in which participants are guided to inspire and support each other through sharing experiences, creativity, challenges and hope (leading to empathy, increased confidence and communication skills, friendships and plenty of laughter).

For an idea of what we can offer, fliers for our previous project's workshops are below. These have now ended, so please ignore the times and dates, but we can recreate or adapt them for groups of people over 18 years old. Please contact us via the email addresses on individual flyers with any questions or to request to book a workshop.

Partcipants will be requested to download an easy-to use app featuring 100 Virtues cards to support the sessions, at a cost of under £2. This is a wonderful resource for building resilience beyond the workshops.

my time to get creative

Following a variety of previous creativity-themed        workshops, My Time to get Creative acknowledges    the power of creativity as a tool for self-care,
enhanced wellbeing, improved mental health, fun and meaningful communication.

Participants are encouraged to take time for                themselves; to allow themselved to play without          pressure, and to share the insights and occasional      surprises that accompany creative expression.

No artistic talent required, no pressure or judgement - just come along and enjoy your creativity!

   AGEING GLORIOUSLY!
This is our longest-running current group for women.
It started as  a series of in-person workshops in December 2019,           and transferred to its online platform with the arrival of covid-19.
Participants in their *50s, 60s and 70s* gather each week to explore      themes related to self-care and later life, and to share life                      experiences, hope, and always laughter. (*Absolutely no upper age      limit!)

"It's a cheerful, supportive space and has been a ray of                      sunshine on Thursday afternoons."

"I feel so much more positive since starting these workshops"
"Didn't know what to expect but discovered other lovely                    women of similar age group willing to share their thoughts              and feelings in a very safe environment."

"A great source of strength and self-development".

   ADAPTING TOGETHER!
A weekly lunch-time (in the UK) space for women             of all ages, backgrounds and cultures to unite and           prove the popular saying "we're all in this together"!
These sessions present an opportunity to share         our stories, challenges and solutions, practice                 compassionate communication and narrative skills,         make friends beyond boundaries, and learn from each     other; to relax, relate, build resilience and broaden           horizons. A range of topics are explored, guided by a       diverse group of co-facilitators.
If required, a certificate will be awarded to those               attending six or more sessions.

Most participants are women living in the UK, with     some dropping in from other countries. Bring lunch, a       drink, curiosity and a compassionate heart.
